New Zealand Greenstone Twist Pendant

Greenstone, also known by the Maori people as Pounamu is found in the rivers in specific parts of the South Island as nondescript boulders and stones. It is usually only when you cut them open that you can tell it is Greenstone. Greenstone is the generic name given to types of hard, durable and highly valued nephrite jade, bowenite, or serpentinite found in New Zealand. The Maori name is Pounamu.

Pounamu is considered a Taonga to the Maori people and was traditionally used to create weapons, tools and jewellery. Today, the art of carving greenstone into jewellery pieces still remains.Maori symbol Greenstone Pendants are eyecatching and considered very special. They are often passed down through generations.

This Twist Pendant has a beautiful meaning to it. It symbolizes two lives becoming one for all eternity. Even though their lives suffer twists and turns on the road or journey we call life, they remain together for all time, and on past the physical world. This Pendant makes a beautiful and thoughtful gift, especially for the loved one in your life and it also makes a priceless wedding or engagement gift.
