Honey Mead - Dry 750ml
Traditionally brewed Honey Mead is made from Clover Honey, and is not pasteurised, super filtered and does not contain any fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices, sulphites or preservatives of any kind. You will also be glad to know, if consumed in moderation there should be no hangovers of any kind. Approximately 14% by volume alcohol is produced from the fermentation of the honey sugars, most of the sugar has been converted into alcohol. All the health-giving properties of Honey are incorporated in our mead.
Honey bees collect golden nectar from flowers and blossom to be stored and processed in the hive. The combination of nectar, minerals, pollen and flavour essences from the flowers plus enzymes from the bee create the medical food we call honey.
New Zealand is one of the few countries that does not use antibiotics in bee keeping. This ensures that New Zealand honey is pure, natural and at one with nature. New Zealand honeys provide the unique flavours and aromas that enhance this Mead. Notable honey flavours include lemon floral, caramelised and buttery, hints of sandalwood, rose oil or meadow grassland clovers right through to the full bodied forest honeys, treacly resinous and smoky. A small glass (50-100mls) will clear away congestion and promote a restful sleep.
