1931 MATCHLESS SILVER HAWK
Matchless is one of the oldest marques of the British motorcycles with the first models manufactured at the start of the 20th century. Matchless branded motorcycles were produce in Plumstead, London from 1899 to 1966 when the name was dropped by its owners. A wide range of models were produced under the Matchless name ranging from small two-strokes to 750cc four-strokes twins. Among the most famous early models were the Silver Hawk and the Silver Arrow. Matchless was one of the two manufaturers to introduce an up-market four cylinder motorcycle in the early 1930's. The Matchless Silver Hawk was launched in 1931 with a V-four engine and a top speed og 76 mph.
