This one metre long carved War Canoe is called a Waka-Tua in Maori.
Known as the Vikings of the East our ancestors, the Maori, was said to have meandered the Pacific in fully carved War Canoes similar to this metre long replica. These massive canoes held between 80 and 120 warriors. The Great Migration, of which only 8 canoes arrived safely in New Zealand, took place in 1350 A.D.
