Sounds of the City is recommended for preschool children 0-4 years.
Eardrop's Journey - Sounds of the City is a twenty eight minute adventure in the city. Eardrops the bunny teams up with his friend The Postie and together they deliver the boxes around the city.
The twenty eight main sounds are divided into four sections, with a very subtle listening cue every ten seconds or so. These include 'what can you hear' and 'ooh that's a (crane)'. In this way the preschooler listening to the CD is constantly being reminded to listen. They learn the sounds on the CD and are given the skills to focus and listen. In addition the last track on the CD is an interactive recap game.
The Eardrop's Journeys CDs take a totally different approach to traditional media products that focus on visual learning. The way the sounds are laid out on the CD using appropriate audio cues has been designed to teach the listener not only the sounds on the CD, but also how to listen to them. The CDs come with a booklet.
