The Splashy Sheep Mug is a durable, microwave and dishwasher safe mug. It is produced in New Zealand at the Splashy art, pottery and tile studio in Horotiu, New Zealand. It is hand painted by a small team of dedicated Splashy artists who are given creative liberties to come up with the designs themselves.

Splashy’s Sheep Mug is painted with secret Splashy paints that are formulated according to a secret recipe and give their products a distinctively bright tone. This large and eye-catching mug  would make a great gift for birthdays, weddings and other special occasions.

How Splashy makes their Sheep Mug:

• Soft clay is placed into a mould and allowed to set.
• While it is setting it is lightly fettled with a damp sponge.
• When the clay hardens enough to be handled it is considered ‘greenware’.
• This greenware is then blasted in a bisque kiln for six to seven hours at 900 degrees Celsius.
• After blasting the mug is hand painted by Splashy’s talented artists using their secret paint formulations.
• It is then placed into a bisque kiln to be blasted once more.
• This is followed by blasting in a glazing kiln at 1160 degrees Celsius.
• The mug is now ready and is inspected for any cracks or faults.
