For Aucklanders, Bob Steiner strikes the right balance of local nature with contemporary art which is useful around the home, as a gift or for artists collections. Finding his passion from the New Zealand environment – Bob's uses what he sees and hears to stimulate his inner design ideas. The Flora and fauna in New Zealand is among some of the most unique in the world – due to it’s relative isolation from the world and high populations.

This small platter (24x17cm) is dressed with the famous Pohutukawa tree – often known as the New Zealand Christmas tree, due to it’s vibrant red flowers in spring and summer. The Pohutukawa is yet another national icon in New Zealand and is regarded as the ‘chief’ by local Maori as this tree can be seen precariously hanging off cliffs and high peaks near the sea.
