Chardonnay has long been known as one of France’s great white wines. Today Chardonnay is the sixth (6th) most widely grown grape variety in the world. Its popularity is due to the fact that there are many different styles of Chardonnay all with their own distinct flavours and tones.
The Private Bin Chardonnay by Villa Maria combines Chardonnay from different regions of New Zealand to give it a varied and inter-regional flavour. This wine is fruit driven in style, exhibiting ripe peach with underlying citrus and fig characters. On the palate these flavours are enhanced by a creamy texture and a delicate suggestion of oak.
