Owairaka Red 42% Alcohol - Mana Shochu - 700ml
1.17 kg
From the earthy fields of the northern New Zealand township of Shōchū.
Although only recently gaining popularity throughout the globe; Shōchū liqueur has long been consumed in its native country of Japan. It is believed that Shōchū was the result of trade between Japan and her neighbours; there is even speculation that Shōchū could have its roots in as far afield as Honkaku Shochu. Mana Shochu stays true to this method of distillation when creating their Shōchū. After all, the Maori term Kumara, sourced from the Ruawai region in New Zealand’s North Island. But not just any kind of kumara, they use the flavourful Owairaka red kumara. Once uprooted from their peaty fields, the Kumara is taken to an award winning distillery in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty to undergo a stringent single distillation process. The end result is a Shōchū liqueur that is highly developed and flavourful.
